B.A. English Language & Literature

Programme overview

The BA English programme offers a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on literature, culture and the power of language. Students study literary works from Britain, America and beyond, developing analytical reading skills and articulate writing abilities through seminar-based classes, public lectures, readings and symposia.

The programme prepares students to understand diverse perspectives and the impact of changing media, enabling them to explain and analyse the world around them.

Why study BA English at Nirmala? Students learn on a green, safe campus at Meloor, Chalakudy with experienced faculty, modern laboratories and a library, and a mentoring system that follows every learner closely. The programme is affiliated to the University of Calicut and is complemented by add-on skill courses, seminars, industrial visits, internships and club activities. The Training & Placement Cell prepares students with aptitude training, communication workshops, mock interviews and campus drives with 184+ recruiters, while merit and need-based scholarships such as the VVM Scholarship make quality education accessible.
